Pushpa: The Rise looks set to take advantage of being the first pan-India film to release in theatres post the Covid second wave. In fact, the makers of the Allu Arjun starrer have apparently locked the tentative release date for the film. They are apparently planning to release the film a week ahead of this Christmas. As per reports, Pushpa: The Rise is likely to release in theatres on the 17th of December this year. This way, the film will have not one, but two long weekends - one being Christmas weekend, and the other being the new year's. The makers are hoping that releasing the film on the 17th will serve its box office prospects very well and they are planning to lock the same.

Also, mainstream Bollywood film, Laal Singh Chaddha, which has Aamir Khan in the lead role is scheduled for theatrical release on the 25th of this month. Locking horns directly with Laal Singh Chaddha can dent the box office prospects of the Allu Arjun starrer. So, the makers are planning to release the film a week in advance, which will give it a free run at the box office at least for a week or so.

In all likelihood, the makers of Pushpa will be announcing that Pushpa: The Rise's release date very soon. The idea is to lock the release date at the earliest so that there are no last-minute confusions and unforeseen clashes with other big-ticket films. It is heard that Mythri Movie Makers will soon be releasing a new poster of Pushpa: The Rise with the film's release date imprinted on it.

Pushpa's shoot is currently in the final phase. The unit recently shifted the base to Kakinada for the forthcoming schedule. Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil and others are expected to take part in the Kakinada schedule. The majority of the shoot will be completed with this schedule. The idea is to be done with the shooting part by the end of October so that the film can be prepared for Christmas release. The Sukumar directorial is being funded by Mythri Movie Makers, who are spending close to Rs 250 crores on the Pushpa duology.
