Thalapathy Vijay's Master, which released on January 13, is continuing its dream run at the Tamil Nadu box office. Despite a 50 per cent occupancy rate, the film has crossed the Rs 50 crore-mark in Tamil Nadu. When it comes to Telugu states, the film opened a blockbuster opening and it became safe everywhere except in two areas. Krishna and Ceeded are likely to have a break-even today.

However, the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial was also released in Hindi, but it got a poor response from the north. As per reports, the film managed to get only Rs 4 lakh on its first day in North India.

Bollywood filmmaker Kamal R. Khan took to his Twitter and revealed that Master is a disaster in Hindi circuit. "Film #Master is a disaster in Hindi circuit as expected. Film collected approx ₹4 Lakhs on day1! This amount is not equal to the electricity bill of the theatres forget staff salary and expenses," he tweeted.

The film is expected to fetch around Rs 12 crore in Hindi for Break Even, which is almost impossible now. Produced by XB Film Creators, Master also features Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Poovaiyar in pivotal roles. The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Meanwhile, Endemol Shine India, Murad Khetani and 7 Screen Studio have come together to bankroll the Hindi remake of Master.
