September is usually a quiet month for the Indian film industry, with no major releases planned unless there is a festival such as Vinayaka Chavithi or Dasara. However, this year will be different, as a big release is scheduled every week in September.
The month will kick off with the release of Khushi, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha as the lead pair. Directed by Shiva Nirvana, the film was initially slated for release in December 2022 but was delayed due to shooting schedules. Khushi will have a pan-India release on September 1, 2023.
Nandamuri Balakrishna's upcoming action thriller, tentatively titled NBK 108, directed by Anil Ravipudi, is currently under production in Hyderabad. Kajal Aggarwal and Sree Leela play the main roles, and the film is set to hit theaters on September 13. Recently, the makers unveiled Balakrishna's first-look posters, which received a great response from the audience.
Natural Star Nani announced his collaboration with new director Shouryuv on a new film, which will feature Mrunal Thakur as the female lead. This film is set to hit theaters in the second half of September.
Prabhas is set to end the month with the release of Salaar, an action thriller directed by Prashanth Neel. The film also stars Shruti Haasan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in key roles and will have a pan-India release on September 28, 2023.
