Tollywood Movies That Crossed 100 Crores In 2022!

2022 is almost coming to an end and with no biggies arriving till the Sankranti season, it is time for us to look into how Tollywood performed this year. A lot of big films have hit the screens this year and some of them crossed the 100 crore mark and stood as a huge hits while some crossed the magical number but ended up as failures due to its budget. Let us have a look at them.
1 - RRR
This pan-Indian movie directed by SS Rajamouli is one of the biggest hits not just in Tollywood but the entire country. This magnum opus set in the backdrop of pre-Independence era took the nation by a storm and collected 1135 crores at the box office. Starring NTR and Ram Charan in the lead, the movie is a visual wonder and Rajamouli's perfect storytelling made it an absolute winner. This movie has gotten a lot of international acclaim too and is trying its luck at the Oscars.
2 - Sarkaru Vaari Paata
Superstar Mahesh Babu is the main reason for this movie earned 178 crores. Despite having a regular story and predictable screenplay, it was Mahesh's energetic performance that made this film a success at the box office. The star hero dragged the film across the line through his stardom and screen presence. Keerthy Suresh upped her glam quotient for this film while Parasuram is the director. Thaman composed the music while Mythri Movie Makers and 14 Reels Plus banners jointly made this film.
3 - Bheemla Nayak
This remake of 'Aiyyappanum Koshiyum' got a positive talk on the very first day and registered big numbers in the first three days. But it slowed down drastically. But the mania of Pawan Kalyan fans made this film earn a gross of around 150 crores. Directed by Sagar K Chandra, Thaman composed the music while Trivikram penned the dialogues.
4 - Radhe Shyam
This was one of the most-awaited projects and there were high expectations on this romantic film. Prabhas is the hero while Pooja Hegde is the heroine. A lot of big names like Murali Sharma, Krishnam Raju, Priyadarshi, Jagapathi Babu, Bhagyashree and others worked on this film. Directed by Radha Krishna Kumar, this movie earned around 150 crores but ended up as one the biggest disasters in Prabhas' career. It was made on a budget of more than 250 crores and the makers faced huge losses.
5 - F3
This complete comedy entertainer collected a gross of 129 crores. This movie was a good success considering the budget involved and the pre-release business it did. Venkatesh, Varun Tej, Tamannaah and Mehreen Pirzada are the lead actors in this movie while Devi Sri Prasad gave the music. Despite being trolled by many, Anil Ravipudi bagged another hit in the form of 'F3'.
6 - Karthikeya 2
This was the biggest surprise of 2022. This mystery thriller and adventure drama turned out to be a huge success on a pan-Indian level. Even the makers did not estimate this level of success. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, this movie earned over 120 crores worldwide. Nikhil is the hero in this movie while Anupama Parameswaran is the heroine. Kaala Bhairavaa gave the music and lot of people loved the movie in theatres.
7 - Godfather
This is a remake of the Malayalam hit movie 'Lucifer' and Chiranjeevi scored a hit this year after a disaster like 'Acharya'. The movie did not collect as expected but still managed to get 106 crores all over. There were some say that it ended up with minor losses in certain areas but it was a huge sigh of relief for Megastar after 'Acharya'. Mohan Raja directed this remake while Thaman composed the music. Nayanthara played the role of Chiru's sister while Satyadev is the main villain in this movie.
