Tollywood Pinning High Hopes On Love Story

A fair few Telugu films have released in theatres post the Covid second wave. Films like Raja Raja Chora and SR Kalyanamandapam have gotten off to bright starts but weren't able to rake up big profits at the box office. There is a strong reason behind the poor box office performance of Telugu films and that is the reluctance of family audiences to step out to watch new releases in theatres. The second wave of Covid has been a devastating one and many lost their dear ones during the same. Consequently, the fear of Covid contraction and the subsequent health complications have increased multi-fold amongst the common public. So, the family audiences are still not ready to take the risk of Covid transmission by stepping out to watch films in theatres. They are sceptical about the same.

If there is one film that has the potential to pull Telugu family audiences back to the theatres, it would be Love Story, which has Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. The love drama is directed by Shekhar Kammula and it has all the necessary ingredients to pull the family audiences to the theatres. The film banks on a super successful audio album. All the songs that were released till now, including Saranga Dariya, Nee Chitram Choose, and Ay Pilla have turned out to be chartbusters.

Sekhar Kammula enjoys a humongous following almost family audience. The blockbuster performance of his previous film, Fidaa proves the same. He has earned great patronage from the class audience and family audience. Also, the lead pair, Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi have good acceptance among the family audience. All these factors might attribute to Love Story's box office prospects. It could very well be the golden ticket for Tollywood to bring the families back to the theatres. The Telugu cinema industry, as a whole, is now hoping that Love Story will be the film to bring the families back to the theatres after the Covid second wave.

It is known that Love Story is announced for theatrical release on the 24th of this month. The film is riding high on buzz.
