Veteran Actress Jayanthi Passes Away In Her Sleep!

The Kannada film industry has lost one of the precious jewels as senior rnactress Jayanthi passed away. They woke to this news on Monday morning rnand it was a huge shock to many. She was recovering from illness but rnunfortunately passed away in her sleep on Sunday night. Her son Krishna rnKumar confirmed the news and her fans are left in tears.
Jayanthirn has acted in hundreds of films throughout her career and was known as rnAbhinaya Sharadhe which means the goddess of acting. She won the rnKarnataka State Film Awards seven times and got Filmfare Award twice rnalong with many others. She acted alongside all the big star heroes of rnher era and acted with youngsters too. She was known for her wonderful rnacting skills and went onto to act in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam rnand Hind languages.
At the age of 76. Jayanth passed away in rnBanashankari Bengaluru on Monday. She worked from 1960 to the late 80s. rnShe was a classical dancer before becoming an actor and as a recognitionrn of her amazing career, she was awarded Dr Rajkumar Lifetime Achievementrn Award in 2005-06. Her classic hits include 'Puttanna Kanagal', 'Dorai rnBhagwan', 'Sri Ramanjaneya Yuddha', 'Chandavallya Thota', 'Choor rnChikkanna' and many more. She acted in 'Miss Leelevathi' which won her arn National Award. She acted with the likes of Prithviraj, Shammi Kapoor, rnNTR, MGR, Shivaji Ganesan. The entre Kannada film industry s mourning rnover her untimely demise.
