Kamal Hassan, Kajal Aggarwal and director Shankar escaped a freakish accident on the sets of Indian-2 at EVP Film City in Chennai.
But 6 people are severely injured in the accident while 3 died. Producers have already given their condolences to the families regarding the accident.
They are looking to announce compensation for all the injured during the accident. But there are number of reports going around the Internet and in news media circles about the incident, giving confusing details.
We got to know some first hand information from the sets through our sources. One of the close source revealed, " We normally, mount huge lights on supporting Cranes and this time we used a canopy to mount the light at 150 feet.
"Some people from other production sets have been complaining about this particular equipment and the owners have been saying that they have worked on the quality from long time.
"But no one noticed how weak the crane rod was and we continued shooting as usual. After the first shot, when Shankar sir was examining the shot on the monitor at the canopy with the actors and important team members, we heard a loud noise.
"Immediately, actors and director could move away from the monitor. Unfortunately, few couldn't move quickly in the mob and we lost some of the hardworking talents," concluded our source.
A video statement from the team regarding lapse in safety measures is expected in coming days and director Shankar is furious on the company that provided the equipment, revealed our source.
