When will Tollywood recover again?

Tollywood is likely to take a beating due to Covid. Theatrical releases are not likely to post exceptional revenues in the next few weeks as the audience are concerned about the obvious Omicron threat.
Barring Bangarraju, none of the Sankranthi releases are making much noise. We need to wait and see how the audience will receive these films as they hit the silver screens this festival season.
Tollywood's recovery is now directly proportional to the nullification of the Covid third wave. As long as the Covid situation is fearsome, the governments will be imposing restrictions on seating capacity at cinema halls.
Also, the audience might not be willing to step out to watch new releases in theatres in big numbers.
The fact that big ticket films like Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata are getting postponed proves the same. This shows the gravity of the situation.
As things stand, we can expect Tollywood to fully recover only after this March. The covid outbreak is likely to show full effect on the industry in the next few weeks. All we can do is hope that normalcy is restored soon and film operations resume in a full-fledged manner at the earliest.
