Earlier, it was widely reported that young and promising Telugu actor Satya Dev would be playing the antagonist role in Megastar Chiranjeevi's Godfather. It was said that the young actor had signed the dotted line already and he would be joining the sets soon after the shoot commences. Recently, rumors surfaced, claiming that Malayalam actor Biju Menon will be playing the antagonist in the Chiranjeevi starrer. This update left everyone excited as Biju Menon is one of the versatile actors in South Indian cinema. His menacing and spellbinding performance in Ayyappanum Koshiyum is a testimony of his exquisite acting prowess. However, this rumor too fizzed out as quickly as it surfaced.

Now, it is heard that the makers of Godfather have roped in Tamil actor Madhavan for the antagonist role in the film. reports claim that he has agreed to sign for the project and he will be joining the cast and crew in the next few weeks. But this is just a rumor, much like the other ones which were previously associated with Godfather. The makers are yet to announce the actor who will be playing the antagonist in Godfather and they are keeping everyone waiting.

In the original, Lucifer, Vivek Oberai played the antagonist and he came up with a fine performance. The makers of the remake are also hoping to sign an actor of great caliber. They are intending to lock an actor for the antagonist role before the commence of the forthcoming schedule.

On a related note, it is being speculated that the makers of Godfather have roped in rebellious social activist and poet Gaddar for an important role in the film. Gaddar has been roped in for an extended cameo appearance in the Chiranjeevi starrer and his combination scenes with Chiranjeevi will be shoot later next month. The makers are said to have also signed Nayanathara for an important role  She will be seen as Chiranjeevi's sister in the film. Even Anasuya is on board for an important role. Thaman is composing the music for the Mohan Raja directorial which hit the floors early this month.
