Why Asha Parekh, Dream girl For Many Remained Unmarried?

The yesteryear diva is close to 81. Her charisma is such that, if we look at her we think she might be in her sixties. She ruled the industry in the 60s and 70s to a level that the makers used to find it difficult to get her dates. She had a massive following among movie lovers.

After she locks her dates, makers used to fix the hero opposite her. Her presence in films is considered a hit by Directors and producers.

Her films had struck gold at the box office. The lady superstar's name is Asha Parekh, who hails from Gujarat. The veteran actress is already a recipient of a bunch of prestigious awards.  

She was recently honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the valuable contributions she made to the cinema. After she was honoured with the award, the younger generation is showing interest in knowing more details about her.

Asha Parekh was born on October 2,1942. Her father is a Gujarati Jain businessman, while her mother Salmaa is a Muslim. Her mother embraced Hinduism later. Asha Parekh's mother always wanted her daughter to enter films and she enrolled Asha in classic dance training. Veteran dance guru Bansilal Bharti trained her.

The trials to make her a heroine started when she was 16. She was selected for a film. At the last moment, she was removed from the film by director Vijay Bhatt saying she has no heroine features. A few days later, she was selected in Dil Deke Dekho opposite Shammi Kapoor. Director Nasir Hussain selected her.

Her debut film was a super hit and there has been no stopping for her since then. She went on to app[ear in many classic films. The Love In Tokyo film made the audiences fall in love with her more. Her remuneration was higher than star heroes. Besides Hindi, Asha Parekh acted in Gujarati, Punjab, and Kannada films too. She was last seen in Sar Ankhon Par. Not interested in doing mother and sister-in-law roles, Asha Parekh bid goodbye to films in 1999.

In her career spanning around 47 years, Asha Parekh won over 40 awards. Despite emerging as a dream girl for the youth, Asha Parekh remained unmarried. It is said that Asha Parekh loved Nasir Hussian who was her first director. As he was married by then, she could not marry him.

Later, a match was fixed for Asha Parekh and he was a Professor from America. However, he was in a live-in relationship with another girl and the professor reportedly told he would continue her live-in after the marriage too. So she said no to the proposal. Despite having a big dream of settling down and having kids, Asha Parekh decided to not tie the knot. Surprisingly, the dream girl for many remained unmarried.
