Rowdy hero Vijay Deverakonda pinned a lot of hopes on 'Liger'. He expected this pan-Indian film to wonders at the box office and take his career to the next level. But the film ended up as the biggest disaster in his career. His plans to become a star with nationwide craze were completely shattered.
His last two films 'World Famous Lover' and 'Dear Comrade' too ended up as failures. With Deverakonda scoring a hattrick of failures, it is key for him to score a big hit now. He needs to have a good run at the box office for the next few films. He has shelved 'Jana Gana Mana' already and focused completely on 'Khushi' which is a pure romantic entertainer directed by Shiva Nirvana. Samantha is the heroine in it.
There was a lot of talk about Vijay being interested in working with Mohan Krishna Indraganti. The 'Asta Chamma', 'Gentleman' and 'Sammohanam' director is known for his classy films with a simple story and beautiful moments. Dil Raju reportedly came forward to produce it and Vijay liked a story of Indraganti's too. But sources say that Vijay is now hesitant to join hands with this director.
Mohan Krishna Indraganti made 'V' with Nani and Sudheer Babu which ended up as a big failure. His recent release 'Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali' is also not up to the mark. Indraganti has a separate fanbase who love his brand of cinema. Even they were not totally impressed with his recent release. At a time when Vijay is in dire need of hit, it will be risky to trust a director who is not delivering. We need to see if Vijay takes that risk or not.
