Post 'Sudigaadu', Allari Naresh hasn't delivered a single hit but he never stopped making attempts to score one. Even his plans to explore the unseen angle in himself with Indraganti Mohan Krishna's 'Bandipotu' failed. He is finally back to the comedy capers which he is best known for with 'James Bond'. Has Naresh scored the success he badly wanted at this stage at least now?
Synopsis:
Pooja aka Bullet (Sakshi Chowdary) is a mafia don-based in Dubai. She shifts her base to Hyderabad for her Mother and scouts for an Innocent Person to marry only to fulfill her last wish. It was then love at first sight happens to Nani (Allari Naresh) upon spotting Pooja in a temple. Hiding her background, Pooja marries Nani. One fine day, Nani comes to now about the real identity of his better half and tries his best to escape from her clutches. Did he succeed or not?
Performances:
Roles like these are tailor-made for Allari Naresh and he have done 10s of such characters in the past. Although there isn't much to complain about his acting skills, He offers nothing new in this movie.
Even Sakshi Chowdary failed to impress with her acting prowess despite doing the meaty role of a Lady Don. She somehow managed to score brownie points with her glamour, body language and walking style.
Posani is the star of 'James Bond'. Pruthvi's parody didn't hit the right chord. Saptagiri failed completely. Ashish Vidyarthi is okay as the villain. Jayaprakash Reddy, Raghubabu, Ali, Praveen and others are just okay.
Pros:
Posani's comedy track
Cons:
Songs & BGM
Screenplay
Direction
Technicalities:
None of the songs composed by Sai Kartheek are decent. Even the Background Score is pathetic. Camera Work by Damu Narravula is neat. Dialogue Writer Sridhar Sipana appeared to be too greedy for rhyming. Production Values are as per the requirement.
Analysis:
After an experimental film like 'Bandipotu', Allari Naresh began focusing again on minimum guarantee films and that's how 'James Bond' happened. Debutante Filmmaker Sai Kishore Macha took the basic storyline from Korean flick 'My Wife is a Gangster' and tried to recreate the comedy tracks we are used to watching all these years.
'James Bond' is slightly better film than Allari Naresh recent duds but that could hardy help the cause. This movie have neither loads of rib-tickling comedy scenes nor any thrills to keep the movie goers hooked to the screens. Inspite of having many comedians & character artists in the film, No one except Posani Krishna Murali is able to tickle the funny bone. The characterization of female lead is poorly etched and hence her combination scenes with Allari Naresh failed to keep the proceedings interesting. Lack of novelty in narration gives a feeling to audience that its a 3-hour long film even though the actual runtime is just 2 hr 21 min.
Bottomline: Lacks Originality!
