Synopsis:
'Kerintha' is a film based on friendship, love and career. It's the story of six youths who enter college with their own aspirations. Jai (Sumanth Ashwin) - Manaswini (Sri Divya), Siddharth - Tejaswi & Nukaraju - Bhavana have played the lead roles. A Youngster who believes love is everything faces rejection from his Soulmate who gives utmost priority to career but understands his sincerity and accept the proposal in the end. The other guy who is passionate about music gets discouraged by parents who wants him to focus on academic career but at last they understand what it means like following one's heart and encourages him. Last but not the least, A Youth who choose wrong means to befriend Beautiful Girls and his realisation.
Performances:
Usually, Subjects like 'Kerintha' were perfect for launching fresh faces. For reasons known best to them, Makers did pick up well-known actors like Sumanth Ashwin and Sri Divya to play the lead. Even though they have done justice to the roles offered to them, Debutantes could have added the much needed freshness factor to the project. All the other four leads did a fine job.
Pros:
Musical Score
Camera Work
Cons:
Narration
Editing
Direction
Technicalities:
Music composed by Mickey J Meyer is the soul of 'Kerintha'. Re-recording is in perfect sink with the mood of the movie. Cinematography is splendid and all the songs have been shot colorfully. At least 20 percent of the runtime could have been trimmed if Editing was done to perfection. As Producer, Dil Raju has done everything to make 'Kerintha' an enjoyable experience. Sai Kiran Adivi, known for sensible films like Vinayakudu, failed completely in the narration part and also limited the reach of the movie to class audience.
Analysis:
Routine Content is the biggest spoiler in the case of 'Kerintha'. The key for success of a Youthful Entertainer or College Campus-based subjects is the treatment & freshness in narration. Unfortunately, 'Kerintha' falls flat in this aspect. Love Stories in the film haven't been dealt well and hence audience couldn't connect with them at any moment. Character design of Nukaraju, a guy from Srikakulam, is in bad taste. His accent and loudness only irritates instead of keeping the audience in splits. Too many characters with unusual body language and mannerisms appear in the film but they hardly make any impression. Go for 'Kerintha' if you have time for 'routine' Youthful Flick sans vulgarity.
Bottomline: A Poorly-made Rehash Of Happy Days!
