Naga Shaurya who became a household name in Telugu states with films like 'Oohalu Gusagusalaade' and 'Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya' takes the risk of doing an out-and-out mass entertainer with 'Jadoogadu'. The agenda behind his transformation is solely to come as close as possible to the Mass Audience. Has this Young Talent achieved it?
Synopsis:
Krishna, a Youth who involves in petty crimes in his native place Palamuru, lands in Hyderabad with the dream of getting rich. In the process of achieving it, He ends up as a member of Gang run by Don Srisailam (Zakeer Hussain) and how this decision changes his life forever forms the rest of the story. The Tracks of romance between the Lead Pair and Tainted Cops chasing Srisailam's Gang are very much part of this story.
Performances:
Naga Shaurya is an apt choice to play the lead in this mass entertainer. He performs superbly is few scenes and his dialogue delivery is just outstanding.
Sonarika's glamour show dominates her acting skills here. The kind of personal rapport she shares with Naga Shaurya is the best one can find between Lead Pair in any of the recent releases.
Zakeer Hussain, Ajay, Ravi Kale and Kota Srinivas Rao played key roles which are a cakewalk for them. Srinivas Reddy, Pruthvi and Sathya have done well. Saptagiri's viagra comedy is unwanted.
Pros:
Naga Shaurya's Mass Makeover
Romantic Track
Songs
Twist in Climax
Cons:
Saptagiri's Comedy Track
Second Half
Technicalities:
Music Director Sagar Mahati (S/O Melody Brahma Manisharma) does a commendable job. Two Melodies composed by him were too good and even the BGM is laudable. Camera Work is impressive. Dialogues pack a punch. Editing is below par and nearly 15 min of the movie should have been edited. Making Standards are good and Producer supported the team very well to deliver a quality product.
Analysis:
Yogi, the director who was launched a few years ago with a class love story 'Chintakayala Ravi', preferred a mass subject like 'Jaadugadu' for success. He tried to show everything from Hero's Introduction to Plans he make to achieve his Goal in a fresh manner. First Half of the film is pretty good with taut screenplay. The filmmaker lost the track in Second Half and its the Climax twist which saves this film from becoming disaster.
Too many characters lacking proper justification, logic less scenes and poorly etched role of Saptagiri spoil the movie watching experience. We have to see if audience, especially masses, will embrace 'Jaadugadu' or not.
Bottomline: Only a bit of Magic here & there!
