Sai Dharam Tej, Harish Shankar and Dil Raju teamed up for 'Subrahmanyam For Sale' after scoring a flop each in the form of 'Rey', 'Ramayya Vastavayya' and 'Kerintha' respectively. Title & Trailers have fetched good craze for this entertainer. Let's see how it's gonna fare at the Box Office...
Synopsis:
Subramanyam (Sai Dharam Tej) is a money-minded youngster who's sole aim is to earn quick bucks in USA for the sake of his family. Seetha (Regina Cassandra) prefers his NRI Boyfriend over his Family and finally learns how she got cheated by him one fine day. It's then Subramanyam offers a helping hand to Seetha and they reach India on a mission after few weeks. Circumstances force Subramanyam to act as Seetha's Husband for few days. Did their Marriage drama yield desired results or not?
Performances:
Sai Dharam Tej's energy levels and lively performance helps him overcome few negative aspects in him. The imitations of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan will make Mega Fans go berserk. As usual, He danced superbly and the chemistry he shares with Regina is so lovely. All said, This 3-Film Old Actor need to work on his Dialogue Delivery a bit and learn the art of excelling in Emotional Scenes.
Regina Cassandra yet again impresses with her near perfect performance and she steals the hearts with glamorous makeover here. Brahmanandam doesn't disappoint even though he is capable of doing much better job. Rao Ramesh made his presence felt with his peculiar dialogue delivery. Adah Sharma does an insignificant role. Ajay's role wasn't etched well. Tejaswi Madhiwada does a good job as Heroine's Sister. Suman, Naresh, Jhansi, Surekha Vani, Prabhas Seenu and Others have done a decent job.
Pros:
Lead Pair's Chemistry
Songs
Dialogues
Cons:
Predictable Story
Climax
Technicalities:
Mickey J Meyer has changed his style for 'Subramanyam For Sale'. Inspite of lack of his trademark melodies, All of his Songs have good energy and even the picturization is impressive. Background Score is Fine. Ram Prasad's Cinematography made the film look so colorful. Editing isn't up to the mark. Harish-mark Dialogues are entertaining. All that Harish Shankar could deliver after a dud like 'Ramayya Vastavayya' is a decent film like 'Subramanyam For Sale'. Nothing to complain about the Production Values.
Analysis:
Usually, Harish Shankar picks up Old Stories and tries his best to narrate them in an entertaining manner. He succeeded in few occasions and bitten dust in other cases. In the case of 'Subramanyam For Sale', He prepared the audience that they aren't going to watch a new story but a rehash of 'Bavagaru Bagunnara' since the promotions of the film began.
While the First Half of the film majorly banks on the teasing scenes of Lead Pair, Second Half have Family Emotions, Comedy Tracks and the much-talked Guvva Gorika remix. The best part is the lesson Harish Shankar learnt from 'Ramayya Vastavayya' failure. He focussed mainly on the Second half this time and the first hour post Interval is the major strength of 'Subramanyam For Sale'.
Sai Dharam Tej-Regina's chemistry is simply superb and Tracks of Brahmanandam-Rao Ramesh-Fish Venkat offers Comedy relief. The last 15 minutes of the movie is a big let down and the emotional scenes in Climax were dramatized too much to ruin the feel-good factor.
It must be said that Harish Shankar couldn't live up to the high standards set by him with 'Gabbar Singh' yet again. Overall, 'Subramanyam...' will satisfy the viewers who throng theaters with minimal expectations.
Bottomline: 50% Entertainment For Sale!
