Sundeep Kishan who began his career with soft roles arrived this time with a powerful mass flick 'Tiger'. IV Anand, a director from AR Murugadoss Camp, is being introduced to TFI with this movie. Did 'Tiger' hit the right chord with the masses?
Synopsis:
Tiger (Sundeep Kishan) and Vishnu (Rahul Ravindran) are Orphans in a same orphanage and they are good friends. Even after Vishnu gets adopted by a family, They continue to maintain the friendship bond. Tiger differs with Vishnu's choice of soulmate Ganga (Seerat Kapoot) who is a native of Kasi. All his attempts to break their love leads to clash with Rahul and the best buddies part ways. As days progressed, Vishnu lands in a danger and it was then Tiger enters into his life again to solve all the problems.
Performances:
Sundeep Kishan changed his look and body language as per demand of the script. He carries the entire Second Half on his shoulders and it must be said he succeeded in doing justice to a mass character. On the flip side, He needs to work more on his dialogue delivery.
Rahul Ravindran as a soft lover boy is an apt choice but he has got very little to do after the first 40 minutes. Seerat Kapoor failed to win the hearts this time. Thagubothu Ramesh is hilarious. Saptagiri's magic is missing in this entertainer.
Pros:
Screenplay
Comedy Track
Background Score
Camera Work
Cons:
Songs
Routine Plot
Technicalities:
SS Thaman's Songs are pretty ordinary and even the placement of Hero Introduction Song is a blunder. Of course, Background Score elevates the scenes to a whole new level at crucial points. Chota K Naidu's Camera Work is exceptional and he experimented a bit in this movie. Dialogues by Abburi Ravi are simple but well written. Editor deservs credit for Crisp Runtime of 2 Hours. Tagore Madhu and NV Prasad have done good job as Producers.
Analysis:
Just alike any another Tamil Filmmaker who tests waters in Tollywood, IV Anand played a safe game here to ensure minimum-guarantee success with good entertainment values and crisp runtime. That's the reason a director who delivered a unique film like 'Appuchi Gramam' in Tamil ended up making a routine commercial entertainer in Telugu. He, however, deserves credit for an interesting screenplay.
Aspects like 'No Female Lead for Lead Hero', 'Not Even A Single Duet for Him' and 'Protagonist Making an entry after 30 Minutes' were something Telugu audience weren't used to and hence they give a fresh feel to some extent. Although the Orphans story in the flashback is similar to 'Arya 2', Director gave a whole different touch to the movie by concentrating on the social menace 'Honour Killing'. While the First Half majorly focus on establishing the characters and narrating the flashbacks, Second Half is all about elevating the heroism with punch dialogues and action sequences. Especially, Masses will connect with the game Hero plays with Villains in the Hospital and good emotional drama in climax blocks.
Bottomline: Rountine but Watchable!
