Shocker: India Family Gets Kidnapped In Libya!

The number of shocking activities happening against the Indian community abroad has been on a constant rise and here we have another one incident involving an Indian family in Libya.

An Indian family from Gujarat has been kidnapped in Libya while trying to migrate to Europe. The family includes a husband wife and their three year old daughter. They belong to Badalpura village in Mehsana district. According to reports the family wanted to settle in Portugal where a relative of the husband already lives.

The family left India on November 29 and first travelled from Ahmedabad to Dubai. From there they were taken to Benghazi in Libya with the help of an overseas agent. Soon after reaching Libya they were reportedly abducted by unknown people. The kidnappers later contacted the family members in India and demanded a ransom of around two crore rupees for their release.

The shocking incident has created fear and concern among the villagers and relatives. The local police in Mehsana have been informed and a formal complaint has been registered. The Gujarat government has also alerted the Ministry of External Affairs about the kidnapping.

Libya is known to be an unsafe country due to ongoing unrest and lack of proper law enforcement. Indian authorities usually warn citizens not to travel there. The Indian government is now expected to work with international agencies to rescue the kidnapped family and bring them back safely.
