Family Travel To US: Beware Of Risks?

The United States immigration authorities have largely clam down on the regulations regarding the international travel, and the situation is not likely to come under control in the near future either.

Concerns are mounting among Indian professionals in the United States following reports of unexpected H1B visa stamp revocations, triggering anxiety for both workers and their families.

Several H1B holders have revealed that their visa stamps were cancelled without prior notice, often due to old or minor issues that were previously addressed. Although their H1B petitions remain valid, the loss of the visa stamp has made international travel highly uncertain and risky.

The impact is especially severe for family members on H4 visas. In some cases, spouses have received H4 visa approvals in India, only to face the possibility of being denied entry at US ports because the primary H1B visa stamp is no longer valid.

Since H4 status is fully dependent on the principal visa holder, any disruption to the H1B visa directly affects family reunification and legal stay in the United States.

Immigration attorneys are advising H1B and H4 holders to exercise extreme caution and avoid non essential travel until there is greater clarity from US authorities. Existing delays in visa appointments and consular processing have only intensified the stress.
