The family of the missing individual is urging the central government for assistance in ensuring his safe return. The situation in Iran has become increasingly dangerous due to attacks from both the United States and Israel.
Siraj Ali Ansari, a 25-year-old from Siwan, Bihar, was working as a quality control engineer for a private company. A few days ago, he and 30-35 others were sent to Iran on a month-long work visa for a plant construction project in Arak. Siraj arrived in Iran via Saudi Arabia on June 9.
Operation Sindhu: India's Response
In response to the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, India launched 'Operation Sindhu' to evacuate its citizens. As part of this initiative, 285 more Indians were brought back home on Sunday evening. To date, 1,713 Indians have been safely evacuated from Iran.
Shortly after Siraj's arrival, Israel launched 'Operation Rising Lion,' targeting various locations in Iran, including Arak. Due to missile strikes in the area where they were stationed, Siraj and his colleagues were moved to a refinery plant township for safety.
Siraj's father, Hazrat Ali, expressed his distress over not hearing from his son since June 17. He mentioned that their last conversation revealed an explosion occurred just a kilometre away from Siraj's location. Since then, Siraj's phone has been switched off.
Family's Plea for Assistance
The family has reached out to local authorities for help in locating Siraj. They are appealing to the Ministry of External Affairs to assist in finding him and ensuring his safe return to India. The ongoing tension between Iran and Israel continues to affect many Indians trapped in the region.
The family's plea highlights the urgency of the situation as they await news about their son's whereabouts. The Indian government is actively working on bringing back its citizens amidst these challenging circumstances.
