International Crisis: Why Indian Students Returning Back?

Over the last few years, Indian students have been extensively travelling abroad for higher study and better employment opportunities. Many Indian students in the USA are now returning home earlier than expected, and this trend is slowly increasing. Just a few years ago, studying in the United States was seen as a dream with great career opportunities. But now, that dream is becoming uncertain for many students.

One major reason is the difficulty in getting jobs after completing studies. The H1B visa process has become highly unpredictable, with very low selection chances, making students worried about their future. Another big problem is the rising cost of living. Expenses like rent, food, and tuition fees have increased significantly, putting financial pressure on students and their families. Many students are struggling to manage loans and daily expenses.

Visa issues are also playing a key role. Strict immigration rules, delays in visa approvals, and fear of rejections are forcing students to rethink their plans. Because of this, many are choosing to return to India instead of staying back.

At the same time, job opportunities in India are improving, especially in sectors like IT, startups, and corporate roles. This is giving students more confidence to come back and build careers here.

Overall, due to visa uncertainty, high costs, and fewer job opportunities abroad, many Indian students are no longer willing to take risks and are returning home earlier than planned.
