Is President Biden Exiting the 2024 Race Within a Few Days?

Two senior House Democrats recently indicated that President Biden might exit the 2024 presidential race within days. This belief follows a pressure campaign from high-ranking party members like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. While no specific timeline has been confirmed, 22 congressional Democrats have called for Biden to withdraw.

Senator Jon Tester of Montana and Representative Jim Costa of California are among those urging Biden to step aside. Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland also wrote to Biden, suggesting he consider stepping down due to concerns about his mental and physical stamina.

The discussions within the Democratic Party reflect broader concerns about Biden’s ability to win the election. Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly told Biden that polling indicated he couldn't win, although Biden claimed to have polls showing the opposite.

Despite the pressure, the final decision remains with President Biden, who has substantial support within the party.
