A heartbreaking incident in Sydney has taken the life of 33-year-old Samanvitha Dhareshwar, an Indian-origin woman who was eight months pregnant. She was out on an evening walk with her husband and their young son in Hornsby when the accident happened.
A Kia car had slowed down to let the family cross the road, but a speeding BMW crashed into the Kia from behind. The impact pushed the Kia forward, hitting Samanvitha as she stepped near the entrance of a car park.
She suffered severe injuries and was immediately taken to Westmead Hospital, but doctors could not save her or her unborn baby. Her sudden death has shocked both her local community in Sydney and her family in India.
The BMW driver, 19-year-old Aaron Papazoglu, who held a provisional licence, was later arrested at his home. He now faces several serious charges, including dangerous driving causing death, negligent driving causing death, and causing the loss of a fetus. The court denied him bail due to the seriousness of the case.
Samanvitha worked as an IT systems analyst and was known as a friendly and hardworking person. Her tragic death has sparked discussions about road safety and reckless driving in New South Wales.
