Peddi In USA: After Ticket Price, Now Screen Complaints

Whenever a big film is arriving, these days there are a lot of brickbats and demands, even before the talk of the movie turns out good and the film clicks. Right now, the only big film in Tollywood until other biggies start arriving from August is none other than Ram Charan’s Peddi. And this film’s USA presence is creating a lot of discussion online.

After making a massive $250K collections from the pre-sales alone, while the release date is far away on June 4th, we have already seen how some complained that the ticket price of Peddi is quite high in some areas, touching almost $38. After that criticism slowed down, now fans themselves are asking that Peddi is not being screened in some PLF screens, which means Premium Large Format screens like Prasad Big Screen, in the USA cities. They have started blasting the producers and local distributors for not being able to get such big theatres. However, there seems to be an issue with grabbing XD and PLF screens.

In fact, many large screens in the USA right now have contracts to “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” which is releasing on May 22nd, and can’t give out screens for Peddi on June 3rd. At the same time, “Masters of the Universe” is hitting cinemas on June 4th/5th across the USA; they have grabbed other big screens. All these screen blockings were done long ago, and with Peddi's date never locked properly, blocking screens in the USA will not be a possibility. So, watching Peddi on PLFs in the USA is technically impossible now.

The respite is that some sets of XD theatres in all major locations are secured, and the distributors are trying to add more such big screens soon.
