US Court Slaps Indian With Life Term For Killing Wife!

It is not new that Indians prefer going abroad for various purposes and the population of people who go to Western nations is increasing rapidly. Even for marriages, NRI matches are preferred over others and the trend has also picked up massively in recent times.

Sometimes the NRI matches show stars to the women by revealing their true colours. One such incident came to light when a man stabbed his wife to death. The victim was stabbed 17 times and was slapped with a life sentence. A court in the United States pronounced the verdict.

As per the media reports, Philip Mathew who hails from Kerela is living in the US with his wife Merin Joy. In 2020 he stabbed his wife 17 times and left the scene. She was rushed to the nearby hospital. While undergoing treatment she succumbed to her injuries.

It is said that Merin Joy told the Florida Police about her attacker who is her husband. Based on her statement the accused was arrested and sent to jail. The case which has been going on for three years saw a big development with the court giving the verdict.

A court in Florida gave the verdict and slapped the accused with the death penalty on charges of murder and possessing a deadly weapon. As the accused said that he would not challenge the verdict the punishment was then changed to life imprisonment and he also lost the possibility of release from jail.

The victim's family and friends welcomed the verdict and said that the court served justice by making him spend the rest of his life in jail for the heinous crime he had committed.
