For all those chatter boxes out there who comment that Telugu cinema is a clichéd gunny bag that recalls the same old stories, here comes a moment where they should be locking their mouths. A wonderful tale of emotions narrated by Srikanth Addala is sparkling everywhere and here goes it.

The CONTENT

Two loving brothers Venky (Peddodu) and Mahesh (Chinnodu) who care for each other a lot are sometimes at logger heads when they fail to come out of their ego. So, once they come out, it is something like a beyond the life feeling. The story revolves around these minute but very essential things of life with some non-cinematic elements.

The EFFORT :

On-Screen:

Both as a caring brother, a cool going lover and an effervescent friend, Mahesh Babu rocks in the performance department. Without all those regular masala expressions, vengeance dialogues, Mahesh makes you glue to seats for hours with his timed Godavari accent dialogues.

And, when it comes to elder brother, Venky too left all his trademark antics and played a subtle and serious character that reminds us of many elders in our family.

There comes Anjali, the girl who proved her mettle many times and proves once again that she is rare. Her quality acting and heart touching cute-little emotions blended with her own voice are a treat to watch on silver screen. Samantha too proved that she is very quick at winning our hearts, and she got only little role this time but she is awesome.

National award winner Rohini Hattangidi was seen on Telugu-screen after a long time. Her natural performance in a granny (naanamma) role will gives you a nostalgic feel of your naanamma and ammamma.

All others including Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Jayasudha, Tanikella Bharani, Kota Srinivas a Rao did their job perfectly.

Off-Screen:

Director Srikanth Addala deserves a bow for selecting such a content to give treat to Telugu audiences on Sankranthi eve. Occasionally he lost grip and the movie became slow, but the way he has brought those intrinsic family relations to life is far beyond our expectations. Without depending on commercial stuff, he will just grind out hearts in a mixer. The message given by him during the end of the movie will be a kick of life time for many.

“Families woven with love and affection will be good families. Such good families make towns, cities, and they will finally make our country and that is what India said to this world” – is the message Srikanth gave.

Veteran writer Ganesh Patro's simple dialogues makes you reminded of every single person in your family. Guhan's fantastic cinematography makes this poetic family drama a treat to watch. Songs by Mickey J Meyer are already running in our mouths, but what makes your heart melt is the background score given by Mani Sharma.

The PLUSES:

· Mahesh Babu, Venky and Anjali's performance

· Superb satirical one-liners that hit hard

· Characters that will connect to many families

The MINUSES:

Well, we generally tear a blockbuster apart, saying that it is a formulaic flick and all scenes are regular. But when some different kind of movie like 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu' hits screens, it will be a stupidity to apply that 'formula' here. Still, if someone wants that comparison, here is it.

· No cinematic interval blocks, twists and fights.

· Some forced scenes right before climax, like an electric pole getting earthed which makes a transformer go out of way and short circuit everywhere. Looks illogical if you look from critical angle and there are couple of such scenes.

BREAKDOWN:

Director Srikanth Addala makes sure that he comes up with a film that finds place in libraries of Telugu families for a long time. He tried to highlight the bonding between two brothers and how important to shun our egos if we want any relation to continue for life. Maybe as he got that herculean task to handle two big stars and other big star studded star-cast, sometimes he missed using some commercial elements though there is huge scope. The film touches many hearts, but for pure entertainment seekers this will be a simple fare.

SVSC is a film that is made for younger generations to understand the essence of family life, values and all that patience-factor which is required in relationships. More than focusing on making money, it looks a surprise that a commercial producer like Dil Raju opted to give a just 'feel' to audience. However, the star-power and appealing content will work magic for him in all centres.

If you are tired of watching all those routine commercial movies, go get a glance of SVSC at least to feel about your family and personal life.

The FINISHING Line: Never dare to miss a 'good' cinema!!!
