There is no minimum educational qualification for any Indian to become an MLA, MLC or MP. The only qualification required is he or she must be an Indian national. Majority of the public representatives are possessing less educational qualifications.

In a situation where India is striving to become a world superpower, there have been debates whether or not educational qualification should be mandatory for politicians contesting elections.

No one is bothering about the educational qualifications but one of the MLA's hailing from Nakrekal in Nalgonda district sets an example by attending degree examination. MLA Vemula Veeresam attended to degree final year exams conducted by Bhimrao Ambedkar University like any other student.

As per the reports, the MLA has been writing the final year degree examination as he missed them due to bifurcation struggle.
