Teenage Vizag girl raped for three days

At a time when the banned documentary on the Nirbhaya rape case is raising questions about women's safety in India another ghastly incident took place in AP. The alleged gang rape of 14year-old minor girl has sent shock waves through Port City Vizag, which is considered to be safe for women.

As per reports a 14-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped for three days at Thadiveedhi near King George Hospital in the city. The victim was a Class VIII student and she is residing with her grandparents at Tuni town of East Godavari district. Few days before she had involved in a fight with her grandparents and went to Tirupati to meet her friend, Prasad (21).

After staying in Tirupati with Prasad for five days, she returned to Tuni along with him. At Tuni railway station, T Veerababu joined them and promised to drop her at her grandparents' house. But the duo took her to Veerababu house and raped for three days. The incident came to light when the girl managed to reach a window of the house and cried for help. Police arrested Veerababu and he confessed the crime. Manhunt launched for Prasad.
