Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa already attained the name of poor people's CM with her various welfare schemes under the banner 'Amma'. To leave even more impact on the weaker sections, She launched one more such initiative which could be called Amma Health Scheme (includes Amma Master Health Check Up, Amma Woman Special Master Health Check-up, Amma Arogya Scheme and Amma Pregnancy Sanjeevi) on Tuesday.
Amma Master Health Check Up - People could undergo tests related to blood pressure, diabetes, heart diseases, hepatitis B, abdomen and etc at Chennai's Government General Hospital at a nominal cost.
Amma Woman Special Master Health Check-up scheme - Tests like pap test smear, digital mammogram, vitamin D test, thyroid test and etc., will be performed.
Amma Arogya Scheme - Tests related to blood pressure, diabetes, echo cardiogram (ECG), cholesterol and eye-related ailments will be performed free of cost at 385 Primary Health Centres.
Amma Pregnancy Sanjeevi - Pregnant Women between 1-3 Months will be offered Pomegranate and Curry Leave Powder to prevent nausea. From 4-6 Months, Pregnant Women will receive natural medicines such as gooseberry powder and other to improve the iron content. From 7-9 Months & Post Pregnancy Phase, Women will be offered medicinal powders to ease delivery and increase lactation
