Playback singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya tweets supporting Salman Khan after the Bollywood Star was convicted in 2002 hit-and-run case has sparked a controversy.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya: "Kutta rd pe soyega kutte ki maut marega, roads garib ke baap ki nahi hai I ws homles an year nvr slept on rd. Mumbai ke road Aur footpath pe sone ka shauk hai ?? (If a dog sleeps on the road, it will die a dog's death. The poor and homeless must not sleep on roads. Even I was homeless for an year but never slept on road)".

The Singer stated roads and footpaths are meant for cars and dogs not for people sleeping apart from declaring driver's or alcohol caught be faulted even if accidents happen in such context. He expressed the view if suicide is a crime so is sleeping on footpath and 80% of homeless film people achieved stardom after struggle but they never slept on footpath. "Y not at your village no vehicles to kill u.. Support Salman Khan. He is not at fault at all," he said, while appealing Bollywood to stand with Salman Khan.
