The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (Hyderabad) issued orders denying permissions for about 25 private engineering colleges from taking up admissions for the academic year 2015-16 on grounds of violation of norms.

During the surprise inspection, JNTU found out that some of the engineering colleges doesn't have the necessary faculty and infrastructure. There are few cases where Students were presented as Faculty by the College Managements at the time of inspection.

JNTU scrapped 25 out of 245 engineering colleges from the list of educational institutions available for counselling this year. As the University cut down 43,000 seats with this decision, Only 75,635 seats will be available for counselling which is expected to begin in July first week.

Only 52,000 seats out of 1.63 lakh available seats got filled last year. Around 50 colleges have voluntarily didn't participate in the affiliation exercise this year.

In Telangana's first ever EAMCET, About 90,556 students have qualified. While 62,000-65,000 seats might fall in the convenor quota, Around 22,000 seats in the management quota. How many seats will be filled the current academic year?
