Mecca Stampede: 14 Indians among dead

14 indians killed in stampede that took place in Saudi Arabia's Mina city on Thursday,. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj announced this officially on Friday.
"Our Consul General Jeddah reports loss of 14 Indian lives in stampede. We have 13 injured in hospital," tweeted Sushma Swaraj. Her another tweet said: "The exact number will be known after confirmation by Saudi authorities."
Some of the Indian volunteers have reached Makkah in Saudi Arabia to help the authorities. Sushma Swaraj tweeted that "Indian volunteers have reached in large numbers and are assisting the local authorities" at Makkah.
Meanwhile total death toll has increased. As per reports the stampede killed more than 700 people and injured nearly 900.The stampede occurred Thursday morning during the ritual known as "stoning the devil". It is the worst tragedy to hit the world's holiest Muslim pilgrimage in last 25 years
