Another Telugu guy gets prestigious post in Indian IT industry. NASSCOM, apex body of the Indian information technology (IT) sector announced its new chairman. NASSCOM announced on Wednesday the appointment of telugu guy B V R Mohan Reddy as its chairman for 2015-16. Reddy is a founder and executive chairman of Cyient (earlier Infotech Enterprises)

He succeeds R. Chandrasekaran, executive vice chairman of Cognizant India, who served as chairman for 2014-15. C.P. Gurnani, CEO and MD of Tech Mahindra has been appointed as the vice chairman of Nasscom. "It is truly a great honour to be the chairman of Nasscom," Reddy said after appointed as NASSCOM Chairman.

NASSCOM is a global trade body with over 1500 members, of which over 250 are companies from the United States, UK, EU, Japan and China. NASSCOM's member companies are in the business of software development, software services, software products, IT-enabled/BPO services and e-commerce.

BVR Mohan Reddy was born on 12 October 1950. After completing his school education, he graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1971 from the College of Engineering, Kakinada, Andhra University.
