Warangal gets greater status

In a major development, the Telangana Government issued orders giving Greater status to Warangal city of Telangana state.TRS govt issued orders making Warangal as Greater Warangal municipal corporation.
CM KCR held a review meeting with municipal officers and took a decision to this effect. The officials issued orders giving greater status to Warangal, which includes Hanamkonda and Kazipet under its region
Warangal expanded a lot from past few years and almost 42 gram panchayats merged with the city. The citys population is growing to touch 10 lakh figure and keeping its historic prominence and tourist destination with fast progress, it was decided in the meeting to accord greater status.CM promised to develop Warangal in par with Greater Hyderabad.
Warangal is the second-biggest city after Hyderabad in Telangana. It is also selected in the finalized list of 100 proposed smart cities by NDA government with the view of developing urban infrastructure and industrial investment in the listed cities
