The 14 Assembly Constituencies in Kurnool district have been crucial for both TDP and YSR Congress to form the government in Seemandhra.
1994 Polls: TDP - 8; CPM - 1; Congress - 5.
1999 Polls: TDP - 10.
In 2004 and 2009 Polls, Congress hawa could be seen in Kurnool district.
As per past records, whichever party wins maximum seats in Kurnool forms the government.
A neck-to-neck fight is expected between TDP and YSR Congress in 2014 Polls. TDP fielded former ministers TG Venkatesh, Erasu Prathap Reddy and Shilpa Mohan Reddy in race.
