The small car which won the heart of million people was no more. Maruti 800 model which was named as Common Man’s car became the history .Maruti India has stopped production of the iconic car brand that had been carrier for millions of Indian middle class families.

Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) director CV Raman announced that the production of Maruti 800 was stopped and even said though the car production has stopped, spare parts will be available for customers for the next 8-10 years.

The last Marurti 800 rolled off the production line at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd's Gurgaon plant on January 18, 2014

The car, which was priced at around Rs 50,000 when launched in the early 1980s, was last available for about R2.35 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), according to the M-800 official website

Over 2.5 million Maruti 800s have been sold since its launch.The same car is being sold in Pakistan by Pak-Suzuki

The vehicle, costing 50,000 rupees ($803) when launched by then prime minister Indira Gandhi who called it a "car for ordinary people".
