You can soon buy groceries from home just by sitting in front of your computer and clicking your mouse.E-commerce giant FlipKart is going to start selling groceries from the June onwards. The service is most likely to be launched as an in-house offering rather than through an acquisition.
With this launch, Flipkart will be in a direct competition with its main rivals Amazon and Snapdeal and alongside the leading grocery selling e-retailers like Big-Basket, ZopNow and Local Baniya.Amazon and Snapdeal which were a step ahead already. Amazon is piloting its ‘Kirana’ initiative in Bangalore, which assures delivery in 2-4 hours, and Snapdeal tied up with gourmet food retailer Godrej Nature’s Basket.Big-Basket, ZopNow and Local Baniya are another famous e-commerce websited which offering groceries online.
The Indian grocery market is believed to become one of the most sought after sectors in future, after apparel and electronics. . India online groceries is estimated to be$43 billion in value by 2019.
