Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand stunned the devotees of Shirdi Sai Baba with his bold statement - 'Shirdi Sai is a human being, not god. He neither a symbol for Hindu-Muslim unity. Is that's true even Muslims would be having same amount of faith in Sai Baba".
Swami Swaroopanand also opposed construction of temples for Shirdi Sai Baba. He alleges its a practice to make money in the name of the spiritual man.
The Swami asserts Sai Baba wasn't an incarnation of God as there are only 24 incarnations of Lord Vishnu as per Sanatan Dharma. He quotes, Worshipping Sai Baba is a conspiracy to divide Hindus.
