This MLA wants Special Bikini Beach

Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) MLA Lavu Mamledar proposed setting up a 'special bikini beach' along Goa's coastline with an entry fee of Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000. He opined such a move will encourage tourism and also earn revenue for the government. The legislature made these remarks in the Goa Legislative Assembly.

However, Congress MLAs objected this move by accusing the government of trying impose restrictions on women and showing bikinis as the cause to privatize Goa's beaches for making money.

Only Lavu Mamledar should answer how could tourism be improved by imposing more restrictions and charging more money from tourists. Privatization of Beaches seems to be on his agenda!

It may be recalled that Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party Minister Sudin Dhavalikar made headlines last month by demanding a ban on bikinis, mini-skirts and pubs in Goa citing they were against Indian culture.
