The Karnataka High Court will pronounce final judgement on the appeal filed by former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa against her conviction in the disproportionate assets case on May 11th. This information was provided in the official website of the High Court.

On September 27th last year, A trail court in Bengaluru has sentenced Jayalalithaa has sentenced Jayalalithaa to four years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 100 crore for allegedly amassing illegal wealth to the tune of Rs. 66.65 crore by misusing her powers as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Jayalalithaa and 3 Other Convicts (N Sasikala, VN Sudhakaran and J Elasvarasi) then challenged the verdict in Karnataka High Court.

The case was related to the period 1991-1996 when Jaya became CM of the neighbouring state for the first time. With High Court's verdict, This high-profile case will come to a end after nearly 19 years.
