X
Despite the death of YSR Congress candidate Shobha Nagireddy, Election Commission informed there willn't be any postponement of elections Allagadda Assembly Constituency as Jagan's party is yet to get 'Recognised' status.

Apparently, All the political parties have to register themselves with Election Commission. But, All these parties needn't necessarily get the 'recognized' status.

Criteria: The party has to be active for continuous period of 5 years (or) It has to get at least 4% of votes polled in either Assembly or Lok Sabha polls. A party which secure 4% votes in a particular state gets recognised as 'State Party' by the EC. For 'National Party' recognition, A party need to be recognized as a state party in at least four states. Notably, Recognition isn't a permanent thing and parties could face the threat of de-recognised if they fail to meet this criteria in the next elections.

AP Election Commissioner Bhanwar Lal informed to media that election for Allagadda Assembly Constituency as per the norms. He is currently seeking the opinion of Election Commission of India before declaring this matter officially.
