Telangana Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma directed the officials to register a criminal case against New Dlehi based weekly magazine Outlook. The orders were issued in the wake of the downright derogatory article against IAS officer Smitha Sabharwal.

Going into details the Weekly news magazine Outlook recently carried a snippet about a woman IAS officer in Telangana Chief Minister's office. The article, talks about the IAS officer looks, attire and sudden rise through the ranks.In a small write up in its 'Deep Throat' column titled 'No boring Babu', the article talks about how the bureaucrat is present at every meeting.If this wasn't enough, the mgazine even carried a cartoon of the IAS officer walking on a ramp as a caricature of the Telangana chief minister holds a camera.

Smitha Sabharwal also slapped a legal notice against Outlook editor in chief and Hyderabad-based assistant editor.She asked them the tender a public apology.The attmept of the magazine has drawn a backlash from journalists and activists alike who have termed the gossipy-news as offensive.

This is not the first time however Outlook has been accused of misogyny. Recently, the magazine was at the receiving end of a backlash over it's article on Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani.
