Guruvu Garu grilled by CBI

Veteran director and former Coal Minister Dasari Narayana Rao has been grilled by CBI over alleged irregularities in the allocation of coal blocks.
Dasari was a Congress Rajya Sabha member from 2000 to 2012. He worked as the Minister of State for Coal during the period 2004 to 2006 and also between 2006 to 2008 in his 2nd term.
On Monday, Dasari was at the CBI headquarters and he was questioned about the allocation of Talabria-II coal block at Odissa to Hindalco even though the screening committee reserving it to Pulic Sector Undertaking (PSU) Neyveli Lignite Ltd.
Both Dasari and former Coal Minister Shibu Soren have been facing the allegations of coal scam as they were responsible for scuttling reforms in the Coal Ministry.
Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla and former Coal Secretary P C Parakh too were involved in this huge scam. CBI alleged in its chargesheet that all these people chalked out a criminal conspiracy to get undue benefits.
