Telangana Secretariat at Begumpet Airport?
X

Telangana Government is considering the possibility of constructing a brand new Secretariat in the 690-acre Begumpet airport land. Already, Revenue Officials were asked to submit a detailed report on the matter.

Although Officials say this is just a regular exercise to collect details of Government land with various departments in the city, There is every possibility of State Government using the vast vacant land either for New Secretariat or Skyscrapers or Housing for the Poor. Only a portion of Begumpet airport land belongs to Government, Rest of the land is acquired from private parties, defence and Secunderabad cantonment. The revenue records and the map of the airport land was submitted to the State Government.

Post the inauguration of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in 2008, Commercial Operations at Begumpet Airport has almost stopped but even Today Indian Air Force, VVIPs and Private Flying Clubs has been using it.
