Flipkart offer: Adopt Child, Get Rs 50,000 Allowance!

Indian E-Commerce giant Flipkart introduced the 'adoption allowance' under which its employees could avail an allowance of Rs 50,000 for adopting a child. This allowance which comes into effect from July 10th could be used towards legal, regulatory and other expenses incurred during the adoption process.
Flipkart has brought substantial chances to its Maternity and Paternal leave policy to create a more employee-friendly environment.
Female Employees adopting a child below the age of 12 months could receive 6 months of paid leave and 4 months of flexible working hours. By adopting a child above the age of 1 year, Female Employees could get 3 months paid leave and 4 months of flexible working hours.
In case of Male Employees, Six Months of paid adoption leave could be granted if the child is less than 6 months old. They can even avail an unpaid leave for 3 months and the company assures continuity on the same job.
As per the statistics of Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA), About 1,368 Children were adopted in first quarter (January to March) of 2015. Adoption Rates in India is so poor, given the fact that its one of the countries with largest child population.
