1 Lakh Rakhis for Narendra Modi

Gujarat BJP's Women Wing sent as many as 1 lakh Rakhis to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday as the auspicious Raksha Bandhan is just few days away. These Rakhis were collected from party leaders/workers and social workers across the state from the past few days.

BJP women wing president Jyoti Pandya issued a press statement confirming that over 1 lakh Rakhis were sent to Narendra Modi's official resident in New Delhi ahead of the festival.

When he served as Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi used to follow the practise of allowing women from all walks of life tie rakhis to him at his residence in Gandhinagar.

In 2014, Thousands of women from Varanasi constituency from which Narendra Modi got elected to Lok Sabha sent Rakhis to the Prime Minister.
