1 Year After Knife Attack, What Happened In Visakha Airport?
X
Opposition Leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy came to Visakha airport for boarding the Hyd-bound flight. YCP Chief waited in the VIP Lounge because there was enough time left for the departure. YCP Leaders tried to arrange coffee for their Party President but Airport Authorities denied permission for outside food/beverages. So, Coffee was ordered from Fusion Foods Restaurant owned by TDP Leader Harshavardhan Chowdary. Restaurant Cook Srinivasa Rao took this as an opportunity to make a murder attempt on YS Jagan.

October 11th, 2019: Opposition Leader Chandrababu Naidu reached Visakha Airport at 9 pm to catch the Hyderabad-bound Flight. TDP Chief waited in the VIP Lounge as there was still some time for the departure of SpiceJet Flight. 30 other TDP Leaders & Party Workers created a nuisance in the Lounge during this period. Violating the norms, They had eaten Biryanis and Non-Veg Items in the lounge itself.

Comparing these two incidents makes anyone realize the partiality & negligence shown by Airport Authorities. As per the norms, Opposition Leader, State/Central Cabinet Ministers can spend some time in the VIP Lounge and they can be served tea/coffee/snacks. If a VIP wishes to have breakfast/lunch/dinner in the Lounge, Protocol Officials will make the necessary arrangements. Even VIP's Personal Staff & those who are accompanying him should walk into restaurants in the airport for having food. In contrast, TDP Leaders hadn't even bothered to comply with the norms while being at the Visakha Airport VIP Lounge. While Chandrababu Naidu preferred having breakfast, Leaders who accompanied him ordered biryanis and non-veg curries from Fusion Foods Restaurant. Nobody would have raised objection had if they had eaten these items in the restaurant itself. The suggestion made by the Protocol Officials over the norms has fallen on the deaf ears. Immediately after receiving the order, Fusion Foods Owner Harshavardhan sought the blessings of Naidu and served whatever that's been ordered by the TDP Leaders. Airport Chief Security Officer (CSO) remained as a mere spectator in this whole episode. Why the rules are applicable only for YCP Leaders?

Who will pay the bill made by Babu & Co? When Harshavardhan Chowdary sought payment, Officials made it clear they won't be entertaining any such activities against the norms. Even the pending bill related to Babu & Lokesh's airport expenses are yet to be cleared. By 2017, Officials cleared Rs 12 lakh to Fusion Foods Restaurant towards expenses of Naidu & Lokesh in Visakha Airport. From 2017 to 2019, The pending bills are estimated to be not less than Rs 14 lakh. YCP Leader Vamsi Krishna Srinivas wondered whether Lokesh had really eaten lakhs worth chocolates and tea time snacks in the airport.

Visakha Airport Director Raja Kishore maintained that anybody has to comply with the rules. He assured inquiry into the violation of norms by TDP Leaders on October 11th.
