In the wake of the political parties intensifying the campaigning activities to woo the voters in Bihar, the decision of the residents of the 108 tribal villages in the state surprised everyone.

The villagers of 108 villages in Bihar announced a boycott of Assembly elections. They took this decision to show their anger against the crackdown on the tribal people by the state police.

When the tribal people in the area are protesting in a peaceful way to declare the area as a Tiger Wildlife Reserve, the cops arrested the activists and filed false FIRs on them.

Media reports quoted the tribals as saying: Even after the Supreme Court issuing orders to say the evictions in the area earlier, the forest department officials have been evicting them and pulling down the crops in the area.

When they are protesting peacefully, 29 tribal activists of the Kaimur Mukti Morcha were arrested on false charges. Seven activists were also arrested by the police, they added.

The four-member fact-finding team in its report on the issues maintained that the cops started a crackdown on the tribals despite they are protesting peacefully.
