3 lecturers, 28 students injured in JNU violence

The Jawaharlal Nehru University became a war zone on Sunday when the unidentified miscreants armed with rods and sticks, attacked people inside the campus and damaged property.

It was a horrifying incident in the campus, the lights were off, hundreds of people entered into the campus and destroyed the campus property and at least 28 people including 3 lecturers and JNU student president Aishe Ghosh were injured.

The students union alleged that attacked was initiated by RSS-affiliated ABVP. the students also alleged that the ABVP "goons" attacked the campus, pelted stones, vandalised the property at Sabarmati hostel.

A doctor took to Twitter and said that his team of doctors, nurses, medical volunteers, who came to help injured JNU students was also attacked by the goons and he shared pictures of the ambulance, which was attacked by the hundreds of goons.

Many political leaders, Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman, External affies minister Jaishankar condemned the violence. Amit Shah asked the police officials to submit a report on this issue. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi visited the hospital and spoke with the injured students.
