Chhattisgarh: 32 Maoists Surrender Before Police On Sunday!

The Dantewada district police issued a statement over thirty0two Maoists surrendering to the Chhattisgarh Police on Sunday. Out of the arrested Maoists, four carry a reward of one lakh each, ANI reported.

Reports claimed that the district police have set up banners urging them to surrender before the police. The banners were set up under a special drive 'Lon Varratu' drive.

For surrendering before the police, the district police have provided them assistance by giving Rs 10,000. Under the Surrender and Rehabilitation policy, they will get more assistance.

It has been reported that the surrendered Maoists have carried out attacks on the security forces and they were facing charges of creating violence in the district by attacks.

The 'Lon Varratu' which translates to homecoming in the local tribal dialect has encouraged the Maoists to surrendered before the cops. So far, nearly 150 Maoists have surrender reportedly.
