AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has been leading by example when it comes to offering ample prominence to the weaker sections. He now decided to offer 50 percent of the nominated posts and 50 percent of the contracts on nomination basis to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and Minorities. AP Cabinet approved the draft bills in this regard during the recent meeting.

Under YCP Rule, 50 percent of the Nominated Posts in Government Corporations/Market Yards/Boards/Societies/Trusts will be reserved for SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities. When it comes to Temple Committees, SCs, STs and BCs will be receiving 50 percent of the posts.

YCP Government decided to offer Rs 10,000 per year for Tailors, Barbers and Washermen who are from the Weaker Sections.

In addition, Free Electricity will be provided to SC Families with an upper limit of 200 Units per month. As many as 15.62 lakh SCs will get benefitted from this move and the State Government is going to bear the burden of Rs 411 crore.

A decision was taken to ensure Locals receive 75 percent of the jobs in the Industries. A legislation will be brought to provide employment opportunities for those who lost their lands due to the Industrialisation.

YSR Navodayam is the new scheme meant to extend financial assistance to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises facing troubles since 3 years. It guarantees one-time restructuring of loans worth Rs 4,000 crore.

A draft bill was approved to set up Judicial Commission headed by retired High Court Judge to curb the corruption. The Commission will eradicate corruption in the infrastructure projects of tenders worth over Rs 100 crore. Judicial Commission received the tender proposals from all the concerned departments and take a final call within 15 days based on the experts choice.

A draft bill related to the appointment of commission for ensuring quality education and regulate free structure in Schools & Higher Education Institutions was approved.

YCP Govt established AP Investment Promotion & Monitoring Agency (APIPMA) in place of AP Economic Development Board (APEDB). While CM will be acting as the Chairman of APIPMA, 7 Directors are going to be appointed for the body. Economic Experts and Leading Businessmen will be part of the Advisory Council of the APIPMA which will have offices in both Vijayawada and Hyderabad. APIPMA will focus on attracting investment, approvals of projects, mobilisation of funds and measures to address Industrial Pollution.
